Voters will head to the polls on Thursday, May 2, to cast their all-important ballots in this year's local elections.
Roughly 2,600 seats across 107 of England’s 317 councils are being contested in the local elections, with the Conservatives and Labour both defending just under 1,000 each. In the Liverpool City Region people will also have the chance to vote for the metro mayor, a position currently held by Steve Rotheram, who is up for re-election, as well as the person they want to oversee policing.
Polling stations open at 7am, and remain open until 10pm on Thursday. Your local polling station will be listed on your polling card, but you can also find it on your council's website. You don't need to take the polling card with you, but you will need to take some form of photo ID as per new rules that were brought in last year.
