Police have released an image of a man they'd like to speak to after a bus driver was racially abused. The bus driver was subjected to the abuse by a passenger in West Bridgford at around 10.15pm on April 4.
When the driver reached a stop outside Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Bridgford Road, the passenger was told to get off. At that point, the unknown man grabbed hold of the driver and tried to punch him, before getting off and walking away. The incident was reported to police a few days later and an investigation was launched. Police believe the man in the photograph could help them with their enquiries.PC Matthew Holden, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a completely uncalled for attack on a bus driver who was just trying to do his job. There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to act in the manner displayed in this incident.
“We would ask that anyone who recognises the man in this picture contacts us, as we would like to speak to him in relation to this incident. Any information can be left by calling the police on 101, quoting incident 238 of 9 April 2024, or with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
