Mohammed Afzal said he was ‘constantly treated as lesser than his white Caucasian counterparts’ and faced ‘bias and prejudice’ for being Asian and gay.
He also alleged his colleagues told him: ‘You should resign.’ But an employment tribunal threw out these accusations this week. ‘He has provided the tribunal with no information whatsoever as to how he says the Met discriminated against him on the basis of his sexual orientation or religious beliefs in 2019 and 2020.’This is the second time these claims have been dismissed. Mr Afzal also tried to sue the Met for the same reasons in 2018.
