A police officer has been found guilty of gross misconduct after an aspiring child actor and his aunt were killed by a joyrider in a high speed chase.
PC Welch, was pursuing Joshua Dobby , careered down a 20mph street at 60mph in a stolen a Ford Focus in Penge, southeast London, on 31 August 2016 Dobby, the estranged son of millionaire pet food wholesaler Mark Dobby, was previously convicted of two counts of manslaughter by gross negligence at the Old Bailey.
The panel heard the officers failed to accurately assess the level of risk that the pursuit posed and did not report this risk back to the control room via radio.
