The officer will be hauled before misconduct hearing

A Cumbria police officer has been accused of secretly recording force information on his personal phone and sending inappropriate messages to a vulnerable woman.

According to a notice of the hearing, PC Foster is first accused of sending messages via social media that "were inappropriate, flirtatious, and sexualised". This is said to have taken place in April and May of last year, a point at which the officer "knew or reasonably believed that the female was vulnerable, or, at the very least had the potential to be so.

A notice of the hearing states: "PC 2402 Foster’s failure to reveal this information to the Crown Prosecution Service was in contravention of his duty to reveal all material that may be relevant to the prosecutor in accordance with The Criminal Procedure & Investigations Act 1996 section 23 para 6.2."
