Police have made two arrests and recovered thousands of pounds of stolen goods following the search of a vehicle in Belfast this afternoon.
Officers from the Belfast Auto Crime Team stopped a grey Volkswagen Golf+ in the city and discovered a haul of stolen goods believed to be linked to a shoplifting spree on the Boucher Road area of South Belfast. Police say that they are continuing to identify all victims of the thefts and and have appealed for anyone who can link the individuals or the vehicle to other thefts to come forward.A PSNI spokesperson said: "Belfast Auto Crime Team have arrested two persons, and recovered stolen goods valued in the thousands of pounds, following the stop of a grey coloured Volkswagen Golf+ in the Belfast area earlier this afternoon.
"Enquiries have revealed that the goods were taken from various stores, including Primark, Tesco, M&S and Smyths Toy Store, as a result of multiple thefts across the whole country.
