A police force has pledged to utilise "all available powers" in order to clamp down on the sale of illicit fire sticks, following a case where a father narrowly dodged a prison sentence in Merseyside.
It was found that under the pseudonym "Kevo James", O'Donnell was offering an illegal IPTV subscription service via Facebook. With over 3,600 members to his account, he offered premium packages ranging from £40 to £85 for a year-long contract. Detective Inspector Steve Frame of Merseyside Police proclaimed: "We have been working closely with FACT to ensure that O'Donnell is made to answer for his actions, and this was a great example of how police and industry experts can come together to tackle this type of criminality. The investigation found that O'Donnell had made a significant amount of money from selling these illegally adapted firesticks and had done so over a number of years through Facebook and WhatsApp.
