PM wants to slash Covid isolation to 5 days as health chiefs admit error

A string of hugely positive studies show Omicron IS milder than other strains, with the first official UK report revealing the risk of hospitalisation is 50 to 70 per cent lower than with Delta.

Asked if he's considering shortening the self-isolation window to five days, the PM said: "Yes, of course."But what I would say to everybody is Omicron is still out there and it's incredibly contagious.The PM suggested self-isolation rules will continue to stay in place for "as long as they're very important" in stopping the spread of Covid.

Covid: Fact-checking the doctor who challenged the health secretaryAn intensive-care doctor challenged the health secretary over mandatory vaccination - are his claims right? As a hospital clinical worker I am (as is everyone) required to prove that all my childhood and adolescent jabs are up to date as a condition of employment - this doctor must have had to agree to the same - what’s just issue here?
