The UK has insisted there must be no new checks on goods moving from Northern Ireland to Great Britain when it leaves the EU's single market and customs union on 1 January.
The Internal Market Bill would give ministers the power to reduce the amount of paperwork that Northern Irish firms have to fill in on goods bound for Great Britain, such as export and exit declarations, or to remove the need for them entirely. It is controversial because it would change the terms of the Northern Ireland Protocol, a crucial part of the legally-binding Withdrawal Agreement agreed by both sides prior to the UK's exit from the EU on 31 January.
Im hoping for a mega hard brexit Teach the people who believed these charlatans a lesson And among the young, the Tories will be unelectable Not all older people are leavers I have sympathy for them But the rest Whining angry awful people Let em suffer We will rejoin😂Tik tok
A reputation of being a soft touch for the eu to abuse
As one of your constituents NeilDotObrien I wish to know whether you will be following the lead of your former Attorney General and voting against this egregious stain on the UK's international reputation. Thank you.
UK first, BBC a EU propaganda outfit.
The Internal Market Bill shows the world the UK is strong and will not be bullied by Leavers, Ex Prime Ministers or the EU. Sign the Bill into law!
not just our reputation the whole dam shooting match. he's totally hopeless.
And the Robotic RedWall Tories had to sign the ‘Get Brexit Done’ pledge before they could take their seats. Pitiful seeing them now defend the concept of UK breaking International Law. They abdicated the need to ‘think’ and now they abdicate the right to use the word Democracy.
Bull
Oh right. Back along, to the luvvies running the country, he was a right wing dreadful nutter. Now he's a star and we should respect his opinion.
Hey BBC you’re on the wrong side of mass opinion here. Stop reporting the minority idiots who are in the EU’s back pocket. Particularly Blair and Major. Britain wants OUT and BorisJohnson is GETTING THE JOB DONE. Brexit
No deal is better than a deal as if we left with a deal, we will still be told by these T...ts in the EU of what to do as deep down this country is already fu...d by these arseholes in power anyway as they can't even deal a pack of cards nor organise a raffle, bell enders.
He created the WA. But he's right inasmuch we should terminate the whole abortion of a document for EU's breach.
Stick to your guns Boris, Britain is proud of you for not letting Barnier walk all over our great Country 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This guy who I’m ashamed to say has the same surname is now showing his true colours
That is not contentious. It is just A FACT!
Isn’t he an actor? Bon viva town?
I like the use of the PRESENT tense as opposed to PAST🤔SplittingHairs?
What reputation?
Amazing... All those clairvoyant BREXITIERS knew what they voted for... No they didn't....
2 twerps prove uk are on the way to independence
No he is not
Does SuellaBraverman understand her role as AG? She must come before parliament to explain the legal justification for Johnson’s attempt to trash UK’s reputation or she should resign for being the most inept AG in the country’s history.
Cox a hardnt remainer. Who tried with May to keep us tied to the EU. No wonder the BBC give him air time.
Those establishment remoaners never stop whinging do they?
Yeah we know BBC, you've been banging on about it for days now.
Hope everyone notes duty free drink and booze cruises return in January 2021. Cheaper booze and toblerones.
This govt are out of control. Odd that this gets posted by the BBC in the middle of the night. It’s as if they don’t want anyone to read it.
The unfortunate thing is we do not need a conservative party divided again. Suppose the agreement with the EU is wrong. Moreover, then it should be changed. Also, this would be the result of previous Government blunder?
Nobody can damage England’s reputation anymore. It’s a basket case.
The only people who believe that drivel is Geoffrey & remainer Town
No. The bill is ‘damaging’ the Tories reputation.
Utter nonsense. If what borisjohnson is proposing is internationally damaging to the UKs reputation, why haven't nations pulled out of negotiations? This continues to prove how out of touch some conservatives MPs are with those who returned the party to govt w/ a 80 seat maj.
He’s mistaken.
coxout
Can politics duck off it’s so ded
'Mr Cox backed Brexit and was the government's top legal adviser when the Withdrawal Agreement was drawn up.' Even he can see the problem with trampling over international law.
Obviously. But once again..and the BBC fails to call a spade a spade on this...the issue is that brexit was one big con. Pretty much everything they said they would deliver (think same benefits...more money etc) was a lie. It will get worse.
I agree the royal family need to regain some form of intervention or hold him to account
this is so ridiculous, no countries got a 'reputation', countries do business and wage war, if people are still doing business with russia, china, north korea, and saudi arabia, they'll keep doing business with great britain
