Players who cough in the face of other players or match officials can be red-carded, say football's rule-makers and the Football Association.

Players can be red-carded if a referee deems they deliberately coughed at an opponent

The International Football Association Board said such an offence fell within"using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures". In a document, it wrote:"If the incident was not severe enough to merit a sending-off, a caution could be issued for 'unsporting behaviour'."

Why. If all players already tested.

“Deliberately” bloody actors

My what happens if they fart?

Players can get a red card but the public can be arrested 🤷🏻‍♂️

'Let's get a VAR check... was that a deliberate cough?'

Surely the players who cough should be arrested and charged like some civilians in the UK,

Red carded? They should be imprisoned! ⚽️😉

Can they stop them spitting all over the pitch or expressing snot out of their noses disgusting

Who cares? They all have to be negative before they can play, right? Or are the rules being slackened already because it is too much effort to run a tight system for more than a few weeks in Britain?

'Players who deliberately cough at other players or match officials'

Omg what next

Mike Dean has got a semi thinking about this

How bout blowing snot from your 👃? what the fxxx the worlds gone mad

I'm having to cough up for my 93 year old mother's TV licence. The BBC must be red-carded now.

SwannyMediaMan What about deliberately spitting?

Cant wait to see VAR in action on this one

Define deliberate coughing.

Thats some bullshit right there

I don't understand why spitting on the ground isn't banned, Covid or no Covid.

😂 It's getting madder every day...

So when will they ban tackling? May as well stop footy till we get vaccine. I won't miss it - i banned it & ALL sport in my house & cancelled sport channels when they started match with kneeling 2 violent political party but refused 2 wear poppies as sport sld not b political.

What about the constant spitting and clearing their noses? They have got away with that disgusting habit for years and surely spittle can contain the virus.

Var var var var ....prove or disprove the intent to cough at an opposing player.scamdemic coronabollox

I bet Mike Dean is the first to issue one in the Premier League

What if the other fellow thinks he’s a Dr and asks you to cough

Are they doing that then..... Surely not..... What about spitting...

A lot of heavy lifting for a ref ...

Into the premierleague they can be red carded if Qatar say so PremierLeagueIsCorrupt

Ban fútbol until COVID19 is controlled. People are dying!

How would you distinguish between the real and the fake coughing.? In this pandemic Sometimes coughing just starts. Just like that. I was in a store a woman just broke out coughing.badly. No masks. A minute before she was fine. I disappeared in seconds. As far as I could move.

Genius.

.......protestors are demanding get paid by businesses 1.5% of the sale, 23% employees must be black and a sign of BLM must be on the front door of the businesses for protecting the businesses. “Protestors” smashed the flower pot while one of them announcing their demands

Oh my god, it's ridiculous.

Those poor ballerinas.

What a load of bollox

Will VAR be used to verify intention? 🤦‍♂️

my god what has it come to were you can't even cough now in sport😷👆😡

Deliberately spreading the virus is already a criminal offence, right?

What about deliberately farting? Do they get awarded a penalty?
