Thousands of families will visit Knowsley Safari Park over the Easter holidays in the hope of getting up close to tigers, giraffes and bears.
But many of them will be unaware of the work that goes on behind the scenes to help save endangered animals across the world. Thethis week to speak to specialists about everything from world firsts taking place at the 550-acre site, to a programme which sees people with mental health issues being prescribed a six week visit to the safari park by their GP.
Here's photos of all the animals the ECHO managed to capture during our visit, including an inquisitive giraffe and a Bactrian camel that loved posing for the camera.
