The latest statistics from Social Security Scotland show that at the end of January, some 192,575 people were in receipt of Adult Disability Payment . That figure includes 83,199 new applicants and 109,385 existing Personal Independence Payment case transfers from the Department for Work Pensions .
Guidance on mygov.scot explains that Social Security Scotland will aim to make a decision about your ADP claim based on your application form and any supporting information you submitted, but in some cases they may need to speak to you as it is “the only way they can get the extra information they need” to make an award decision.
