He was taken to hospital and the road was closed

A pensioner has been seriously injured after a crash which partially closed a road. Emergency services were called to Derby Road near the entrance to Queen's Medical Centre last night at around 7.30pm after reports of a crash.

A man in his 70s was taken to hospital and the road between the QMC and the A52 Clifton Boulevard was closed. By this morning at 6.30am it appeared the road had reopened.Get the latest news straight to your phone by joining us on WhatsApp Chief Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers will remain at the scene of this collision as we work to understand exactly what happened. To this end we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed these events earlier this evening – particularly anyone who may have recorded dashcam or other video footage at the scene.”
