Partygate: Removing PM would lead to instability, says Oliver Dowden

Last week, Mr Johnson - along with his wife and Chancellor Rishi Sunak - was fined by police for attending a birthday party thrown in his honour in the Cabinet Room in June 2020.

On Thursday, MPs also voted for an investigation by a parliamentary committee to take place over whether the prime minister misled the House over his statements on No 10 parties.Liberal Democrat deputy leader Daisy Cooper said there was "a point of principle" in holding him to account, telling the BBC: "If you allow a prime minister to mislead Parliament without any repercussions, we end up in a very dangerous place.

"But also the challenges we face right now, whether that's national security, or whether that's energy security - these unparalleled challenges.

May's reputation was saved by Johnson, who led the world in number of fines issued at a single address, leads the world in dirty Russian money, leads the world in VIP contacts to mates, leads the world in worst IMF economic growth forecast. May's reputation dodged the bullet!

Or, they think, “why should I have to do all the hard shit” and the abandon ship, having driving the thing into an iceberg and ruptured the hull.

We know all too well that Johnson thinks it's all about him. This clinging on to power and the persistent lies and distraction that goes with it is hugely detrimental to millions of people in this country. People are suffering because of his ego. Time to go.
