PARIS is bracing itself for its hottest ever day as the second heatwave in the space of a few weeks blasts the French capital.
The popular Brit holiday destinations of Benidorm and Ibiza will see temperatures hitting 34C this week, well above the July average of 29C.But Francois Jobard from Meteo France said that Thursday was shaping up to be “a potentially historically hot day”, the MailOnline reported.“We are forecasting 41 or 42 degrees in Paris on Thursday and there is the strong chance of beating the record.”
A “level three” alert which includes measures to ensure that elderly and vulnerable people are checked up on regularly, and that rooms are set aside for shelter, has been put in place.Other French cities could also see their records tumble on Thursday, including Reims, Bourges, Lille and Clermont Ferrand.
