Aneira Davies Contributor A First Aid organisation has warned of the dangers of touching hogweed, calling it ‘Britain’s most dangerous plant’.

How to talk to your child about coronavirus First aid organisations here in the UK are urging parents to keep their children away from a toxic plant this summer, as shocking images show how it can cause severe skin burns if touched. The hogweed plant is most prevalent at this time of year and can grow up to five metres in height and two metres wide.

‘Found across the UK, the dangerous giant hogweed looks harmless enough, similar to cow parsley with its long stems bearing large umbrellas of white flowers. ‘Any parts of the body that come into contact with the sap of a giant hogweed should be immediately washed with soap and cold water and seek medical advice. Further exposure to sunlight should be avoided for at least 48 hours.’
