Parents’ fury as strict new head changes school uniform four weeks into new term

PARENTS have been left furious after a strict headteacher changed their children's school uniform four weeks into the new term.

Mum Samantha Matfin told Chronicle Live: “I am absolutely furious. I am so angry and so are a lot of other parents. “I bought three white polo shirts and two blue polos for PE, all at £8.99. Now they say she can wear them all for PE that she has once a week. It really is a joke.”In a letter produced on September 26 it said: “We are delighted to introduce ourselves as the senior team at Heworth Grange.

“As part of the change to leadership, we are also focusing on standards of uniform and behaviour. We make no excuses for the high expectations at Heworth Grange, students who look good and feel positive are more likely to achieve. As a result, we are introducing a few changes to the standards of students at the school."

Uniform policy cannot be decided by the SLT. It has to be agreed by the governors. Doubt they have met. Not saying I disagree with the policy but it needs to be done legally.

why the new uniform wasn’t introduced earlier

She wouldn’t change my child’s. When she buys they’re clothes then she can choose.
