Parents are shortening their kid’s lives with supersized school packed lunches

PARENTS could be shortening kids' lives with supersized packed lunches filled with sugar and saturated fats.

Paul Evans of School Health UK and the Obesity Society is campaigning for parents to recognise the benefits of school dinners. In a letter to parents, Mr Evans said: "Parents are shortening their children's lives and wasting hundreds of pounds a year by choosing packed lunches." Mr Evans is urging the 50 per cent of mums and dads who pack a lunch for their kids to switch to school meals to save money and ultimately their children's health in the long run.

State-funded Catholic faith school plans given go-ahead despite oppositionSome parents who oppose the plans say the school should be about local children and not what faith they follow. Is it just Catholic faith schools that are the problem or is it other faith based schools also. Apparently, faith based schools including Muslim etc attain very good academic results for their students. when you say state funded, you actually mean funded by catholic tax payers, right?😏 This shouldn't be happening in the 21st century. Children shouldn't have reduced choice in where to go to school just because they/their parents aren't the right religion, and government (i.e. my taxes) definitely shouldn't be funding this discrimination. Faith schools are wrong.
