St Matthew's parent council says it will work with all parent councils across the region to petition local councillors on how strongly they feel about the re-design of North Ayrshire libraries.
Currently, there are five librarians across secondary schools in the region. One of the proposals from the budget meeting was that only two term-time jobs would remain within the school library service. Paul Meechan, Chairperson at St Matthew's Parent Council, said: "We are happy that NAC has paused this proposal to consult fully and communicate clearly the way forward - something we feel they were pushing through without involving parents and young people alike.
