HERO paramedics are risking their lives by treating coronavirus patients in flimsy aprons that are thinner than bin bags, a Sun investigation reveals.
At least 61 health workers have died from coronavirus with 48-year-old paramedic Stuart Monk, who died on Friday, among the latest. “It’s just crap. The aprons rip when you get them out of the packet. They blow up in the wind over your face so your lower half is exposed. We are always snagging them on the side of the ambulance running to patients and have to tie up the holes. The masks don’t stop anything. You can blow a candle out through them. And the arm sleeves don’t cover anything.
The NHS medic said: “It’s supposed to be a non-coronavirus ward but 80 per cent of the staff are now off with suspected coronavirus.
Pretty bad reporting by the Sun. One Paramedic complains to them 😢. The rest of the Ambulance Service is doing a fabulous job & some trusts on their 2nd round of mask fitting/testing. Pity the Sun can't find positive stories about the great job all ambulances personal are doing.
