Rogers revealed that they split the girls up because it"was the worst thing that could happen" after developing the relationships between the tweens for eight episodes.
"This story is fundamentally about four girls who don't know each other. They meet and become friends or enemies, or frenemies, over the course of these eight episodes," he explained. "And so, in a lot of ways, the worst thing that could happen at that juncture, we wanted to be that they would have to be rendered apart."
The showrunner also detailed his plans for a bigger season 2 saying that he wants it to be larger in scope and spectacle.
