Emma Coulthurst, travel commentator for the holiday price comparison site, explains; “It is a fact that Brexit is causing summer package holiday prices to Europe to drop. Some British holidaymakers say that they don’t want to book until they know the outcome of Brexit, while others say they want to avoid Europe altogether”.
Shed added; “It is not all about Brexit, though; there are a few other factors at play when it comes to Brits’ holiday choices. "The return of British holidaymakers to Turkey and Tunisia and resorts such as Hurghada in Egypt has created a much more competitive holiday market compared with the last few years."With the lira offering excellent value, tour operators have reported recently that Turkey, in particular, has been selling well.
"As a result, many companies offering packages to the likes of Spain, Italy, France and Portugal have lowered prices in a bid to tempt Brits to book.
Brits who are looking for a European holiday will be happy to know that prices at the beach resorts themselves, including for essentials such as meals and drinks, have also fallen year-on-year.revealed that holiday essentials in some resorts are up to 20 per cent cheaper - meaning that Brits can save while on holiday as well.
