Regulators said the jab was linked to 30 cases of blood clots and seven deaths a week ago

The Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid vaccine has been linked to 79 cases of blood clots and 19 deaths out of the 20 million people who have been given the jab across the UK. This is a slight increase on the 30 cases and seven deaths out of 18.1 million doses reported last week. A total of 51 women and 21 men aged between 18 and 79 had blood clots after a first dose of the vaccine.

Fourteen of the 19 people who died had cerebral venous sinus thrombosis , a type of clot that prevents blood from draining from the brain.Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk.

Pretty sure if this was BioNtech /Pfizer everybody in the UK would be shouting about how better the ' Oxford vaccine' is.

Pfizer also has deaths linked to it in Germany Iceland and other countries all medication comes with a risk - at least government taking action on the relatively low rates

I wish they would put more meat on the story, why not also include age, life style and health issues, this is just scare mongering again.....................I'd still take the odds.

Glad they won't be vaccinating people in their 20's with AZ now. Wouldn't want my 24 yr old daughter to have that 1 in the summer. However,my 26 yr old son has already had his first AZ first dose with no problems, so he's having his 2nd dose in 7 weeks. Unless advised otherwise.
