Brief letters: Slad valley | Philip Larkin | The Bull, Ambridge | Boris Johnson | The 2020s | G2

David Parker rightly enthuses about Swift’s Hill and the surrounding Slad valley . It is a most attractive spot where, almost 65 years ago, we were inclined to dally in the flowery grass during our honeymoon. My “Cider with Rosie” was less likely then to be disturbed, whereas today a Laurie Lee trail ensures that the area is a centre of literary tourism.

Labour, not the Tories, benefit from first-past-the-post voting system | LetterLetter: Dismissing Tory success as a rigged game betrays a head-in-the-sand refusal to engage constructively with other reasons for defeat, says Robert Frazer It doesn't matter who is benefitting from it, it isn't a good voting system to use and it should be changed. Do people really believe this is democracy with a nation that has never been anything but center to right? A nation that clearly meddels in other nations democracy yet pretends to have a pure version yeah right So if we are centre to right as a nation then us Tories should always be in power as we represent the most of the UK. Simples.

Ultimately BBC bias will always be to the Establishment and the ruling party. No news for me from the BBC since the ge2019.
