Glasgow's night-time public transport needs to be more like Edinburgh or Manchester for the city's hospitality sector to survive, industry leaders have warned.

Glasgow's night-time public transport needs to be more like Edinburgh or Manchester for the city's hospitality sector to survive, industry leaders have warned.that the company would be scrapping all 11 night bus routes in Glasgow at the end of the month, claiming there was"not enough appetite" for the services.

Mr Gold draws comparisons to Edinburgh and Manchester, which have integrated public transport networks that operate a robust nighttime public transport service. “And if it’s a private enterprise, they have to look at profits and whether the service is viable in cash terms, so that’s the biggest difference."In response to calls for a re-regulated bus service, SPT has said it was looking to develop a regional bus strategy.

“SPT is currently looking to develop a Regional Bus Strategy to set out a regional approach to bus for the future which delivers for users. “While I support calls to give SPT more powers, this must also be accompanied by more funding to deliver the services needed for passengers.”
