The use of food banks is rising, homelessness is soaring and a quarter of children in the UK live in poverty. The Conservatives aren't doing well to prove otherwise

wading in on Grenfell. He had already stated in 2017 that food banks are not endemic of a failing society, but “rather uplifting” as a sign of humanity, “showing what a compassionate country we are.”

Yes. Next question?

Yes. Next?

No, the Tories don’t hate the poor. To hate something, you have to have some kind of feelings about it, something Tories lack

I like to quote one of my favourite George Carlin lines. The upper classes get all the money but pay little taxes. The middle classes pay most of taxes & do all the work. The poors are kept as they are to scare the hell of the middle class. That’s Tories. 😁

This question is a no brainer.

not quite hate, more like disgusted by

The Tories loathe the poor - & the sick, the disabled, the Homeless & the unemployed.

No, they just like to look down on them & gloat

Yes. Yes they do.

No they don’t hate the poor, they see them as a necessity, they need the poor to do all the hard graft & crap jobs that make the money for the rich & powerful so they can fund the Conservative Party in exchange for lower tax & less restrictive employment laws & making more poor

Hate? No. Care about? No...

This “article” is just a rant! I’ve known many Conservative MPs and probably hundreds of Tory voters.None of them “hate the poor”. In politics, people disagree about how to achieve a good life for everyone; politicians want to make life better for the poor. It’s a question of how.

of course they dislike the poor as they don't want to face that they have not done enough to help people get out of poverty and they have caused lots of hardship for many poorer people

Not so much as many others

Of course they do. Thy smear down at them from their position of privilege pretending to care. The NHS is going to be sold but by bit to the Americans hitting the poor and lining the pockets of the Tory elite.

For a Tory being poor is the person's own fault hence they have no empathy.

Yes it seems so.

Do UKLabour hate the rich..

you mean are the newspapers buying cloud

Yes.

Let the last ten years of austerity, answer that question for you

Just as much as all political parties. That is why there are more people than politicians.

Socialists believe in equality. The hate 'the rich(er) than me', and they grind down the poor with empty promises and government interventions in their lives. On the other hand, Tories don't seem to actually hate anyone, and don't try to keep anyone down. Live and let live.

You bet, or serfs as they prefer to call them.

The pretenders are not journalists. They are LIARS.

Quite a few but not all. They think the electorate is thick though. I hope they are not right.

They can't hate the poor. Their wealth relies on keeping the poor. They hate being reminded of that fact and hearing about their conditions and quality of life.

The poor, the disabled, Foreigners....

It's not that they hate the poor. Tories very rarely consider them at all. And when they do it's only to manipulate their lack of education/means to their own ends. Breaks my heart when working class people in poverty Conservative.

I have listened to Andrew Bridgen speak in several interviews Well, I’ve heard words come out his mouth Appreciate it’s just me, but I find him a very unappealing person and politician

Yes! Is this a question you are actually devoting column inches to ? What are you asking tomorrow; does the sun set every day? JohnWight1 NeilClark66

Yes. Next story

The Poor are a necessity to the Tories as an example to the lumpen workforce - now misrepresented as the mythical Middle England - of what they can expect id they don't acquiesce unquestionably to the will of the owning elite. They also act as an inertial load to control wages.

Didn't a candidate say they should be put down..

They’re like the GOP but somehow worse.

🐻 💩 🌳

I just don’t think they care

Its in the name, the Conservative party. What they want to conserve is rich on top, poor at the bottom.

Opinion: Do the Tories really hate the poor? Probably not.....it's more that they just don't care.

Apart from : Work shy socialists Benefit cheats Muslim rigging Labour votes Antifa Illegal migrants Cheeting Blue badge holders 🤸‍♀️ Greta Thunberg The answer is NO...

No, they have to clean up the mess left behind by the last Labour government. Blame New Labour for the austerity.

Yes. Sí. Oui. Ja. Bai. Da. Igen. Taip. Tak. Le. Áno.

They revere money. Without it, you are inconsequential to them.

YES. if they can't make money from it they don't care.

Yes

100% Yes

Of course they do, just like the Republican Party in America.

Of course they do.

Yes. EndThread

the poor should be under communism...

How useful are opinion polls in an election? What opinion polls can really tell you in the run-up to the general election. 'what opinion polls can really tell you in the run-up to the general election'.... nothing opinion polls from propaganda outlets like the BBC and sky are used to control the narrative. Opinion polls are used to gerrymander the opinion of those who read them. In 2016 we saw two examples of polls 'being wrong' - that is being in conflict with the result. Since then rather than promoting the side 'the establishment' want to win, they do the opposite. Useful to manipulate the voting intention
