Opinion: As a teacher I refuse to remain politically neutral

are now prescribed to stuff our students full of disconnected, abstract facts that can be regurgitated in examinations, with little connection to anything meaningful in the real world.. I became a teacher because I wanted to ignite a passion in young people to commit themselves to fighting the many injustices that exist in our troubled world today

I know teachers can have raw deal with the present hard measures in place at the moment and the constant checks on their work but you should never pass on your political views on to younger people in your charge.

I bet if you had a colleague who was indoctrinating pupils with rw ideas you'd object fast enough.

As long as its outside the classroom and doesn't affect their impartiality to teach and not indoctrin their beliefs on their pupils then they're free to do as they please within the law. In my opinion.
