One person has been arrested after far-right protesters were met with a counter-protest outside the Tate Britain, which was hosting a drag queen storytelling event for children

Protesters outside the Tate Britain in London, which has been hosting a drag queen story-telling event for children. on Saturday.

Inside the London art gallery in Westminster, the readings went ahead while outside police kept protesters from far-right organisations apart from counter-demonstrators. Around 30 right-wing demonstrators held signs reading: “No drag for kids!” and “Leave our kids alone!”The Metropolitan Police confirmed one person was arrested on suspicion of making a racially aggravated comment towards a police officer.

No injuries were reported and officers remained at the scene until the protest finished just after 3pm.
