On the first Stephen Lawrence Day, let’s admit our communities are still unequal | Doreen Lawrence

The 22nd of April is the first National Stephen Lawrence Day – a day commemorating the life of my son, Stephen Lawrence, who was killed in an unprovoked racist attack.

Let's admit that thousands of white girls were raped across Britain and the establishment covered it up, and they will never get a remembrance day

You couldn't begin to name all the whites who are killed by inter-ethnic violence. Yet we have a day of remembrance for one black teenager. Why are white victims just swept under the rug?

Why is there a Stephen Lawrence day, he died over two decades ago, what about all the indigenous British people murdered in racist or religious attacks by foreigners? There’s been far more, but of course a white persons life is worth far less than a non-white.

I visited historical and beautiful England in the late 90's, always planning to return for a second visit. Right up until the mid 2000's w/ the mass African/Muslim influx and of late to see the sharp crime increase and the degradation of whites. I'd fear for my life to return.

There’s no point! His death was one of many caused by ignorant racist people. Until we eliminate racists we won’t eliminate racism! It’s not a “community” problem it’s an age old worldwide issue. White supremacy at its finest.... they now believe they are the victims of racism!

With government minister that only delivers platitudinous fine words in attempts to convince us they are doing something about inequality, you can be sure of one thing – the situation will remain the same under this government. Equality is like kryptonite to the Tories.

Or maybe we should talk about rising knife crime, who's doing it, and why meaningless gestures like StephenLawrenceDay do NOTHING to help.
