ALL GOLD: Nigeria's Goodness Chiemerie Nwachukwu celebrates on the podium Photo by BEN STANSALL/AFP via Getty Images NIGERIAN GOODNESS NWACHUKWU took her nation’s fourth gold medal of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, breaking the women’s discus throw F42-44/61-64 event world record twice in the process.

The African was clearly a crowd favourite in the Midlands. While the Nigerian could not throw further in her subsequent attempts, she drew thunderous applause from fans at the Alexander Stadium each time she took her turn. The 23-year-old also previously held the world record of 33.35m for the F42 event. She threw 34.84m to break it before throwing a further 36.56m to clinch the gold medal.
