And what of power? Well, it almost hit 500W running at stock speeds. But then that's the way modern GPUs have been going—just look at how much power the otherwise efficient RDNA 2 architecture demands when used in the—and it's definitely worth noting that's around the same level as the previous RTX 3090 Ti, too. Considering the performance increase, the negligible increase in power draw speaks to the efficient 4N process.
At a time of global economic hardship, it's not a good look to only be making your new architecture available to the PC gaming 'elite'. And, at a time of global economic hardship, it's not a good look to only be making your new architecture available to the PC gaming 'elite'. Do the Ada tricks not seem as potent further down the stack? Or is it purely because there are just so many RTX 3080-and-below cards still in circulation?
In a way it might seem churlish to talk about fears over the surrounding cards, their GPU make up, and release order in a review of RTX 4090. I ought to be talking about the silicon in front of me rather than where I'd want it to exist in an ideal world, because this is still a mighty impressive card from both a gen-on-gen point of view and from what the Ada architecture enables.a level of finesse here to be applauded.
EVGA used to host a Level-Up program, right? If you bought something within 3-5? months and there's a new upgrade available, you can send in the old and get the new? Maybe pay the difference too? I'll never forget buying a 1080 and then TI got announced and released 6 months l8r
Poor folk? C'mon.
Bought my Rx6900 over a year ago, for 1500$. It still rocks and with recent updates it still very much relevant.
Hi gamers, grab this T-shirt to wear on Thankskiving dinner or Turkey day, it s just at 13.99$
I think anyone who bought a 3090 of any sort in the past six months knew what they were getting into and that the 4090 was coming. That doesn't suddenly make their 3090 bad.
F
Can get it for 1k now, though
Nah. No sympathy for anybody buying cards nearly two years into a generation and then being surprised when there's a new generation. Lol.
I’m not feeling sorry for them. They made a decision to have the best that you can buy…
so glad I got a 3080. whoever buys the 4k series are real suckers xD
There's not one game I know of that's even really pushing a base 3080 at this point. Why do I need a 40 series card?
Lol thr people that bought a 3090 ti are not the poor ones lol the 3090 Ti is still a very powerful GPU and way cheaper than a 4090 lol and the 4090 is not much more powerful than a 3090 TI
Clever folk the unlucky folk are the ones paying the price for the 4090 when in 6 months it will drop in price, patience is a virtue.
I will not lol, they knew and still bought the 3090 TI... And if you can buy a 3090 TI you can buy the 4090...
Spare!!!
Traded a Nintendo switch for a brand new 3070 in the box last month. Im good with that lol
Literally 700$ more than the 3090 I just bought, that’s way too much of a steep increase. Not even upset that I got a 3090.
Well that's what you get for following trends in tech. Although, if you can afford these prices you probably won't mind wasting money.
This cycle isnt new for ppl who have been with Nvidia for awhile that they should of learned now, just like when rtx first came out and ppl were guinea pigs for the tech
Considering they knew the 40series was dropping... no?
So they saved a few hundred dollars. Those poor, poor souls.
How much is the rtx 4090 even cost?
Homie, I'm waiting on the ever so small price drop the 3k series is gonna get thanks to the 4k series so I can get one of them. I ain't got no need for a giant brick graphics card with what I play.
IDK make top end video cards $400- $500 again. Gamers barley have the cash. We spent it on games :). Getting rich by gamers sacrifices. What brand do you people like the most for video cards.
This is why mid range will always be the best deal
Not a chance in Hades I'll ever spend £2,000 on a graphics card 😄
Bought it for 2k at the end of 2021 😢 😭 😢
Realistically, anyone who could afford a 3090 Ti in the last 7 months (especially at scalper prices) isn't going to balk at the cost of staying bleeding edge. 'Poor folk' do not own $5,000 PCs.
The poor folk who think that they need an upgrade after buying a 3090 ti... 🤣
Eh I bought a RTX 3070Ti back in like march, not too upset
Only the rich will see it for 4-5 years so who cares.
I'm broke!
Full tower guys with beefy psu’s makin’ a comeback!
What’s great, is that this’ll kill mini PCs. Mid towers? Nah man, going to have to remake those full towers
Careful, gamers
You’ll need it if I can do anything about it lol just get them to make a 4096 please!
