A mother, whose salary mainly goes on nursery fees, wants help from when a child is two not three.

Instead, under the current system, he will be offered a place in a school nursery after Easter, meaning a wait of almost a year from now.Ceri said: "He misses out on four months of funding by 12 hours. He could've started school a term earlier if he had been born on 31 December."

She works for a telecommunications company, booking people in for training, with lots of meetings throughout the day. While she was able to cope with Benjamin at home during last year's lockdowns, this is not a situation she would be able to maintain full-time, meaning he cannot stay in the house as she works.

This Welsh government scheme was suspended in April, with funds redirected to pay for childcare for key workers' children.

Not at all. Baby and family first

Baby and family first and career second

Women have the right to choose.

Yes it should be...if your not sure dont have one...

Nursery fees are a complete rip off in the UK. What we need is a non-profit operated service, and the private sector should operate like private schools do, at a premium. It’s really not rocket science. 🤷‍♂️

The whole way the uk works needs to change. this 9-5 or 8-5 work days are just not compatible with Nursery or school hours. Buisnesses need to allow for flexi hours to allow parents back to work. provision for pre and post school care would also be benificial.

Not sure why people think everyone suddenly sticks their 2 year old in a nursery 8 hours a day, five days a week. Many work part time and take them half days etc. You shouldn’t judge others circumstances you know nothing about. Many need to work

It's their choice to have kids or not it should be their responsibility to look after the kids or pay someone to do it without scrounging off those that work and pay tax. Why should joe public foot the bill ? the government may make the payment but it sucks the money from us.

Don’t have children. Simple.

Wrong-it should be a choice. Don’t be so greedy! Why should the childless pay for other people’s children? They already have to pay for other people’s child tax credits, their school meals, their schools, etc. Damn these parents demanding more😡

It should be a choice. Life is full of choices.

It's your kid! Look after them!

Why should everyone else have to pay for parents who want it all?
