Darwin Nunez has broken his silence on the criticism and abuse the Liverpool striker continues to face since joining the club.

He started just one of the Reds’ final seven matches of the season, and was withdrawn between the 60th and 70th minute in the previous three games as they failed to find an elusive winner/equaliser.
“Before, I did look at them a lot and it affected me. Whoever says that those negative comments do not affect them is lying, those negative comments that are directed towards you will always affect you. Nunez has also been subjected to derogatory chants from opposition fans since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2022, with Klopp even responding to such chants after the striker scored a last-minute winner against Nottingham Forest in March.
“In that game, the Nottingham fans were singing to me. But I didn't understand anything, thank goodness.Meanwhile, Nunez’s future at Liverpool was thrown into doubt following his social media deletion spree, though reports claim that new head coach Arne Slot intends to retain the striker’s services.
