Travel operator TUI has announced the Balearic Islands have 'reached capacity' as they urge holidaymakers to look elsewhere when booking their sunny getaways following recent anti-tourism protests across Spain .
But despite the pause on the Balearics, the TUI boss revealed he had recently discussed opening up Algeria for beach holidays. He said: 'We are offering to create living spaces for employees and other residents; we are happy to tackle the issue head-on.' Ebel added: 'It is not our place to dictate how many tourists a destination can accommodate; that is the responsibility of local politicians'.
