Nottingham Forest have reapplied to Rushcliffe Borough Council to extend their training ground, the Nigel Doughty Academy, in West Bridgford. The club have trained at the Wilford Lane site on Gresham Close for more than 20 years.
While the plans for the extension of the first floor will not change, under the plan the ground floor will be extended to "accommodate a larger kitchen and mess facilities and recovery lounge for the first team players and staff." A club statement, included within the planning application, says that the new application is only a small difference to the 2019 plans.
"In the above connection, the club have worked tirelessly to achieve Premier League status – and having achieved such, wish to provide their players with everything possible to sustain this in pursuit of long-term success for themselves at the very highest level." These plans were granted conditionally, with the conditions met and discharged by the council in January this year. An amendment to these proposals was made in December last year, with this granted conditionally in February.
