Very misleading headline. This is referring to very small Covid based supplements not general unemployment benefits.

Nonsense. Starving people makes them work harder.

Whether it does or not for those actually in the public sector who pay tax who do not receive a pay rise will feel there standard of living is worsening while those doing nothing get more

Why not make this very clear that this applied to Australia NOT the UK. Different countries, different cultures and different attitudes - only a common language...

Time to build more council estates built by councils themselves open to self employed and not to huge private companies. Providing long-term work too many.

The increased benefits helped a lot of people in the USA, without the increased benefits out unemployment is crap.

Having jobs worth doing is the main problem. Robots, the green revolution and technology do not have the answers that provide the viable mass employment that will be needed.the ever growing consumer productions running on skeleton staff, self service and virtual shops, Hello!!?
