Defiant residents gave a clear message after concerns were raised over an extended licence for serving alcohol at a local bar - "Don't attack the pubs." The owners of The Roundhouse, in Royal Standard Place, Nottingham, were successful in their bid to serve alcohol until as late as 2am despite concerns raised over noise.
Though some concerns were raised over noise, a number of people have said they were happy to see The Roundhouse granted their new licence, particularly with pubs "struggling" in recent times. "I don't think there's much to worry about round here. Plus pubs are struggling to survive since Covid. "Obviously if it gets to a point where there are some problems, or if it's unfortunate enough to attract bad characters then I understand people getting upset. But I can't see why anyone would be upset for extending a closing time."
