Bloody hell: It is a figure of speech.

I don’t believe, the purge has begun, obey or be punished. Momentum movement is a hardline left movement who will impose their will on the masses given the chance

Pathetic

Faux outrage! He knows it is just a phrase. Can you imagine if a more appropriate phrase had been used, something along the lines of “call off the fascists”?

Grow up its a metaphor ffs

Haha when you give it learn how to take it woof woof

Labour has to appeal more broadly not too just the young ideologists that many of us once were and still are.

Life long Labour supporter - but sadly wholly no chance whatsoever of a Corbyn led Labour government. Trying to be too much like the 70s. Unions have rightly and undeniably lost most of their power and we are not the manual labour intensive manufacturing industry that we were.

It is offensive. All sense of reason and debate has been lost by the Westminster bubble. The very centre of free speech is being attacked by those who call any opposition rascist etc.

Political correctness in 2018 - no figures of speech allowed. What was that about ‘not understanding English irony’? Not understanding English more like it this time

He should know what it’s like to be grossly offensive

He obviously doesn’t understand figures of speech.

Wonderful how he can twist the meaning to suit.

mconway70 Yes they are

Not as offensive as johnmcdonnellMP

That’s because he’s pathetically sensitive. Call off the dogs is a well known phrase and, in actual fact, is the perfect phrase to describe these far lefty types

Well I think the "No Campaign" sounds like a great idea.

Says the man who called for an MP to be hanged.

Those who vote democratically are not dogs Umunna. Those who besmirch their leader on the orders of a foreign government deserve de-selection.

Oops so they forgot to tell JM how embarrassing ??

Faux anger with deliberate vice like grip on wrong end of stick - but hey! It's the Labour Party so anything goes by way of internicene warfare!

The BBC disagree.
