HUNDREDS of Vote Leave supporters led by Nigel Farage gathered in Sunderland this morning to kick off a 14-day march to London in protest at the government's "Brexit betrayal".
Waving blue passports and pro-Brexit banners the crowd assembled in Sunderland, the first city to vote in favour of exiting the EU in the 2016 referendum, before setting off towards Hartlepool. He told the crowds: "If you see what has been happening in Parliament this week, we may well not be leaving the EU."Angry rows broke out as the march started, with several EU supporters positioning themselves in the crowd to shout down their opponents.
It will then stop off in towns including Pontefract, Doncaster and Wellingborough before arriving in London on March 29 - the intended date of Brexit - when a mass rally will take place in Parliament Square.
