There is evidence that advertising that glamourises alcohol can lead to over-consumption.Scotland’s drinks sector employs 88,700 people and contributes £6.1 billion to the economy each year.

More than 100 drinks firms from across Scotland have put their names to it, with signatories also including Belhaven, Brewdog, Chivas Brothers/Pernod Ricard, The Macallan, and the Molson Coors Beverage Company. Scottish politics Drinks firms insisted: "At times like these, we urgently need the support of our government and elected representatives".
