A Belfast restaurant has been recognised as one of the best up-and-coming spots this month across the UK and Ireland.
The Michelin Guide has announced 15 new additions to its new restaurant recommendation list, including only one contender from Northern Ireland. A Peculiar Tea, located in South Belfast, has been selected as one of the Michelin Inspectors' 'Favourite New Restaurants'.A Peculiar Tea was created by Chef Gemma Austin as an escape from reality and the stresses of adult life.
The website states she is “known to her friends as a female Peter Pan”, she loves to use food to make her guests feel a sense of nostalgia and playfulness."Chef-owner Gemma Austin believes food should be fun and changes the theme of the evening tasting menu at this restaurant – tagline ‘The Emporium of Imagination’ – every 8-10 weeks: think Cluedo, Harry Potter or Alice in Wonderland.
