The UK is given extra time to respond to legal action launched by the EU over plans to scrap parts of the NIProtocol

The European Commission said it would restart legal action - paused in March 2021 - over the UK's decision to delay checks on certain goods arriving into Northern Ireland from Great Britain. They relate to an alleged failure to provide the EU with data about exports from Northern Ireland to Great Britain, and implement agreed EU customs, VAT and alcohol excise rules.

On Monday, a spokesperson for the commission confirmed the deadline for the government to respond had been extended by one month. The EU has said while it remains open to further negotiations with the UK, it will not accept unilateral changes. The UK's plans are laid out in the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill, which passed its final stages in the House of Commons last month but faces a potentially rough ride in the Lords in the autumn.for the bill earlier this month. At the centre of the proposal is the concept of green lanes and red lanes for trade.Goods coming from Great Britain into Northern Ireland and which are staying would use the green lane.

GB goods moving through NI into Ireland or the wider European Union would use the red lane and continue to be checked at NI ports London also wants any trade disputes resolved by "independent arbitration" and not by the European Court of Justice, and for Northern Ireland to benefit from the same tax breaks as elsewhere in the UK.

2016 - There will be an extra 230 million per week for the NHS. 2022 - We are pulling our own teeth.

Read why the protocol is doing what it was meant to for NI!

Probably for the best given that no one is currently doing anything resembling ‘governing’ at the moment.

Almost half of EU countries still suffering from droughtProlonged hot and dry weather leaves EU countries grappling with withering harvests, lowered energy production and emergency water handouts, just as the war in Ukraine prompts a spike in food and energy prices. KARMA! So not just the U.K. and still if we have rising sea levels and we are completely surrounded by water how we can be in a drought That’s what happens when there is little rain and the ground is hard and any rain is washed away over the hard ground because it can’t be absorbed. I also blame brexit for this, EU wouldn’t have suffered as much of UK haven’t had left….kek
