NHS prescription charges are set to be frozen in England in a bid to ease the cost of living crisis.

It comes amid fears that the squeeze on family incomes is damaging the Tories.

The freeze, which is the first for 12 years, will save patients £17 million, the Department of Health and Social Care said. The move comes after Boris Johnson instructed ministers to come up with measures to ease the pressure on household budgets due to soaring global prices.

Wake up people. You’re being taken for fools at every turn 🤬

What about food and electricity

Oh I'm sure that's going to help everyone 😱😱

lol that will do the trick jeez

Wonder how many free prescriptions would equal the PPE and Tracing Contracts awarded to Johnson and Co’s friends?

Most people don't even pay NHS prescription charges!

Freezing prescription charges in England is not going to help anyone. How about the government cuts and then freezes fuel and heating charges? It would do that if it really cared for the people. It is more intent on making the wealthiest even more wealthy at our expense.

They’re already “frozen” in Scotland, frozen out of existence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So thats £0.35 on a prescription.

So as the cost of prescriptions from the pharmacy industry rise is the gov making up the shortfall or is the NHS expected to suck it up?

So basically we still have to pay , how the hell is that helping people .. all idiots ..

Let's face reality and be honest They are not fit to govern

Tories continue to read the room 🤯

They really don't wanna help.

Why on earth do they keep coming out with daft, minor changes ? Let’s save them an MOT a year, few pence on prescription. This is almost a £1000 increase on most peoples energy bills. CostOfLivingCrisis sajidjavid RishiSunak BorisJohnson

Prices NOT increasing in line with inflation because you failed to manage the economy is not the ‘win’ you think it is!!

Nothing ever goes down , it just goes to proper rip off prices or just stays at a rip off price.

But they already just went up, nice timing

Oh yea that's really gonna help pay my food and utilities bills.

It needs a damn site more than that to genuinely help people.

If devolved governments can provide free prescriptions the Tories can to. England shouldn’t be paying for prescriptions. It’s a greed crisis with those B’stards.

That’ll help keep the heating and lights on and food on the table 🤡

Great but I don’t need a prescription, I need reduction in bills in food costs not the chance I may need some medicine.

No cutting the cost is helping the cost of living not freezing it.

Free in Scotland 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Big fat hairy deal*. * for 99% of the population.

That’s definitely a positive

It’s good that tories have removed half of civil servants because they were Lavishly overpaid very high salary which was also the cause of poverty depriving drying out our public funds

It was already high charges for decades

Pure GesturePolitics

Please talk about people who are legacy benifit because of illness and didn't get a £20.00 UPLIFT UNDER COVID were the the fogetton

Least with that 30p saving you can treat yourself to another meal

But the rest of the UK pay nothing because England is paying for it please explain how this is allowed.

Not going to help anyone over 60 as they are free!

Wow - those Tories really know how to treat us 🙄

There is no cost of living crisis. There is only a greed crisis

Woo hoo! Why can’t they be free like in Wales & Scotland?

Devolved regions already have this. Maybe stop charging for water in, water out & just charge to maintain the water system like NI? Or, how about helping increase household incomes with less tax? Or more social security (cos thats seriously lacking) How about not wasting £ 🤔

They are free in Scotland and Wales, why are folk in England paying for prescriptions?

*Rolls eyes all the way back*
