Children are facing “disgraceful” waiting times for NHS treatment as they are not considered a priority, one of the UK’s leading children’s doctors has said.
She also called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to appoint a dedicated children’s health minister, to ensure that young people were given fair consideration in policy decisions. Speaking to The Independent, Dr Kingdon said many parents could not afford to be at their dying or sick child’s bedside because of increasing financial pressures.
