Players will now face a penalty if they sit over the boards awaiting a line change and there will be no changes to three-on-three overtime.

MANALAPAN, Fla. — The value of a good video coach will become even more important if proposed rule changes to coach’s challenges get the necessary approval following this week’s meeting of general managers. Among a series of rule tweaks put forward here Tuesday was the recommendation that coaches be granted the ability to challenge incorrect minor penalties called against one of their players for high-sticking and puck out of play.
