Newspaper headlines: 'Record cancer backlog' and Princess Charlotte turns seven

Several front pages feature stories on getting treatment on the NHS, with many also carrying a photo of Princess Charlotte with her new dog on her seventh birthday. The Times reports that the number people being referred for cancer checks hit a record 2.7 million in the last year, describing the rise as a "boost" following a dramatic decline during the pandemic.

The prime minister is considering giving millions of people who rent housing association properties the right to buy them, the Daily Telegraph reports. Mr Johnson has ordered officials to develop plans for 2.5 million households to be able to purchase their homes, in a possible revival of a similar scheme introduced by Margaret Thatcher for council-owned homes, the paper says.

Of course because all resources went to protect the very elderly ill dying 'with' Covid as well as countless other ailments. So what do the virtue-signallers have to say to the orphaned kids because Mum died of cancer after her check-up was cancelled? Being in 'care' is great?
