Plans are being drawn up to ban staff from working in more than one care home to prevent them accidentally spreading Covid-19, the Daily Telegraph reports in its lead story. The paper also reports that Chancellor Rishi Sunak will announce extra financial support for pubs and restaurants hit by tier two restrictions on households mixing. As he announces the package of support, Mr Sunak will tell the Commons that the prospects for the economy are "getting bleaker", the Guardian adds.
Assistant Chief Constable Owen Weatherill told MPs that the public needed simpler messages, the paper reports.Meanwhile, the Daily Star reports on the latest frontier in panic-buying: tracksuit bottoms. The paper claims that after the "bog roll bandits" of Covid's first wave, stay-at-home Britain faces a loungewear crisis next.
Maintain social distance.and also use mask.
Good idea... pity it took this long to work out...
Agree that’s how it should be and then you have to look at the practicalities of how it would work. The staff in care homes have been cut to the bone so they rely on agency carers who work in multiple places
so journalists pls under FIR investigate the number of free meals these MPs get on their privileged gravy trains life / not forgetting the subsidized catering/bars at UKParliament BorisJohnson GaryLineker MarcusRashford pollytoynbee mattfrei night BBCPropagandist
Another profession ready to be destroyed , care staff working for agencies . Care homes test their staff regularly more than most professions .
This isn't news! It's logic! Should've been happening from the start! & they should be doing extended shifts! 12-24hrs a time & a test as they arrive & as they leave! It's staff taking it into care facilities in the first place!
Needs to happen!!! Some people are of the opinion that it’s ok to work in a “red zone” and then pick up shifts at a care home
So, two hours a day then?
Also in care, you don't go 'off sick' you go 'in sick'. When you don't get sick pay, what choice do you have.
well something makes sense at last
How does that work for agency staff? Most homes rely on them
Thank god for that because there's a pandemic coming.
some MPs don't live in the real world.
They're alright saying that, but what happens when staff are self isolating/off sick/annual leave Dangerous staffing levels delivering patient care and trying to keep up the new guidelines regarding extra cleaning etc. We need contingency plans and better support and funding!!!
How does that work with community care....visiting elderly in their homes...
Apologies for sounding stupid, but isn't that obvious?
Downturn of ethics....
In an ideal world but this will leave homes understaffed which isn't safe either.
Surely that should’ve been part of the individual care home contagious disease/virus action planning?
Well that will work
