Newcastle United are not set to offer winger Matt Ritchie a new contract and he will leave the club at the of the season,The 34-year-old’s deal is set to end at the end of the 2023-24 campaign – alongside teammates Loris Karius, Mark Gillespie and Paul Dummett.on 14th February, have all recently signed new contracts at St James’ Park.
However, Ritchie is set to be let go by Newcastle in June – ending his eight-year association with the Magpies. He is set to be moved on as Eddie Howe’s side look to raise funds for their transfer plans this summer.The former Scotland international has featured sparingly for Newcastle in the 2023-24 campaign.Ritchie was not included in the Magpies’ squad for the Champions League – a campaign which ended in their elimination.
The left-footer joined the Tynesiders in 2016 and has gone on to make 210 appearances across all competitions for the club, notching 25 goals and 33 assists.Ritchie landed a 12-month extension in June 2023 despite his limited action last season. The Magpies sit 10th in the Premier League table and are 15 points adrift of Champions League qualification for the 2024-25 campaign.
