Activists hopeful the majority of submissions will be in favour, amid previous signs of support and large social media campaign

The submissions have not yet been processed, so it is unknown how many were in favour of a ban – but Lal was optimistic that the majority would be, after a large-scale social media campaign asking people to submit their support. About 160,000 people had signed a petition to ban the practice earlier in the year, andin September 2020 found 72% of New Zealanders favoured a ban, and just 14% opposed.

Is it the physical conversion that they’re banning?.

Conversion? Gay is not a disorder but trans, whatever that means, includes a tiny number of people with a somatic disorder which should be treated with cognitive behavioural therapy, just like anorexics. AGPs and those with other paraphilias need policing.

They should ban it. Kids need to be protected from this kind of nonsense.

Honestly, the NZ gov is an absolutely cracked team of incredible people. Heck the PM handled a pandemic AND had a baby whole in power!! 👏👏👏

There was no evidence to suggest conversation therapy is even happening in NZ. Fictional bill to extend trans 🏳️‍⚧️ reach and criminalise parents want to help children with gender dysphoria. Fact.

cheers!! more and more evidence shows bio and genetic factors influence being lgbt.. so if raised cons. christian doesn't make you less likely to be lgbt, just less likely to express it. THAT is why trying to change it (conv. therapy) doubles risk of suicide.
