Police say new tactics have enabled them to drive the expansion of county lines drug dealing into reverse, and have vowed to eradicate it from the country’s worst-affected area.
Until the reasons people sell and take drugs-boredom, depression, despair, lack of meaningful work or work that will support an individual above poverty level the police will just keep playing whack-a-mole
the strategy also doesn't deal with the underlying social economic factors that people work like this. doesn't deal with the underlying issues to treat the drug user in the first place. just criminalises more people slowly exacerbating the problem with no resolution, but prison.
fantastic strategy, that helps no one. makes it harder & more expensive for the users to get their medication. meaning more street crime burglaries robberies shoplifting begging to fund their habit, forcing the drugs into ever more extreme people & risk takers more harm than good
